Systems Requirements

Linux

This is a beta experience

Hardware Requirements

OS Requirements

  • Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

  • When selecting a windowing system, use Xorg (X11) for NVIDIA GPUs and Wayland for AMD/Intel GPUs

Hardware Requirements

  • Dual core x86 or x64 CPU at 2.0GHz or faster

  • 4GB of system memory

  • A modern GPU that supports H.264 or H.265 Vulkan video codecs, such as GeForce 10 series or newer; search for your GPU in these lists: H.264 or H.265

  • For NVIDIA GPUs, a minimum driver version of 580.126.07+. Please note that after installing a new driver on the host system, you should reinstall the GFN app again

  • For Intel/AMD GPUs that use Mesa, recommended driver version is 24.2.8

  • Please read this knowledgebase article for installation issues or this knowledgebase article if the app fails to launch

Internet Requirements

  • 15 Mbps for HD resolutions at up to 60 FPS (e.g. 1280x720)

  • 25 Mbps for FHD resolutions at 60 FPS (e.g. 1920x1080)

  • 35 Mbps for UW QHD & QHD resolutions at 120 FPS (e.g. 3840x1440 or 2560x1440)

  • 45 Mbps for 4K resolutions at 120 FPS (e.g. 3840x2160)

  • 55 Mbps for QHD & FHD resolutions at 240 & 360 FPS (e.g. 2560x1440 or 1920x1080)

  • 65 Mbps for 5K resolutions at 120 FPS (e.g. 5120x2180)

We recommend using a wired Ethernet connection or a 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection.

In addition, latency from your location to the NVIDIA data center must be under 80 ms.

You must be a GeForce NOW Ultimate member for 4K/QHD resolution, HDR, AV1, Cloud G-SYNC, and 120/240 fps streaming on the native Windows app. For more information, please see this article (https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5223).

Keyboard and Mouse

A USB gaming mouse is recommended. If you are using a mouse and experiencing stutter, you can try lowering your mouse polling rate to 125Hz.

Gamepads

  • Sony PS5 DualSense/DualShock 4 controllers

Additional gamepads may work with GeForce NOW. Some require additional drivers and/or software updates to properly function.
